There is currently and EASA consultation on changes to the Basic Regulation, A-NPA-2014-12 European Commission policy initiative on aviation safety and a possible revision of Regulation (EC) No 216/2008 which can be found here. It is fairly technical and LAA will be responding through and with both EFLEVA and Europe Air Sports.

However, there is a second, related consultation from the European Commission which seeks public comment on how aviation safety should be regulated within the EU. We very much urge members to respond to this consultation, mindful that our objective is to support a sensible and proportionate regulatory regime and that we believe Sports and Recreational aviation is best served by national regulation through associations. Naturally much of the questionnaire relates to higher commercial activity – however, within that we need to ensure we have the regulatory regime that best serves us.

It is a public online consultation (although you can download a pdf of the questions should you wish) and can be found here. The consultation closes September 15.
