The Tour de France starts in Yorkshire this coming Saturday, July 5 (Leeds to Harrogate), and the UK sector continues for Sunday (York to Sheffield) and Monday Cambridge to London).

An AIC has been published for each day, detailing the Restricted Airspace (Temporary) that will be in force to protect the official aircraft involved in overseeing and televising the event.

The airspace restrictions will roll with the riders as they progress through each stage, with mini RA(T)s being turned on and off throughout the course of each day. This will keep disruption localised for a minimum amount of time. Generally, the restrictions will extend from surface level to between 4,500ft - 6,000ft.

Pilots flying anywhere in the vicinity of the Tour de France route should expect increased helicopter traffic from the official TV broadcaster and VIP flights.

The AICs can be accessed from the NATS AIS site.
