TAG Farnborough have amended their proposed airspace design following simulations which showed that their routing to the south would conflict with Gatwick departures.  They have published a consultation which closes on 2 November. You can find the document here:

Section 4 of the document covers our interest.  The design around Farnborough has not changed but in their document they offer 3 options for airspace south of Midhurst noting that this “mitigates the impact of the airspace”.  In fact only Option 36 is tenable as the others conflict with Gatwick.  Option 36 lowers the base of CAS over a significant area.  This is absolutely critical for gliding as that lowered base closes off the route to the south downs so the gliding clubs at Parham (South Downs GC) and Lasham (Lasham GS) would have difficulty surviving.  For powered aircraft this is less significant but the whole airspace change remains challenging for us too.

You may want to respond to this consultation perhaps if only to reconfirm any views you previously expressed.  See Section 4 for how to respond.  Basically write an email to [email protected]  with the subject ‘Airspace Consultation’.
