Meet the Board and Staff
Vice President and Director
John Brady I joined the RAF in 1963 as an apprentice and went on to fly mostly Lightnings and Phantoms with some time in various headquarters and in Whitehall. The last 5 years until 1997 were spent buying Eurofighter Typhoon before joining a charter airline flying Boeings and Airbuses until retirement in 2008. I continued to fly Grobs with the RAF AEF until 2009 and have co-owned a Jodel 1051 and more recently an RV-6a. I am an LAA pilot coach, a flying instructor and ground examiner and am building an RV-8.
My main business with the LAA is dealing with regulation and consultations, particularly relating to airspace, focussing on maintaining our freedom to fly. I am on the LAA governance committee and am also chairman of the Pilot Coaching Scheme Working Group and chairman and trustee of the LAA Educational Trust. I represent the LAA at NATMAC, the airspace committee which the CAA uses to interface with user groups and I represent wider GA on working groups dealing with the Future Airspace Strategy. Jointly with James Tannock I represent the LAA’s interest to the General Aviation Alliance.
