Great Oakley Airfield is one of the best light aircraft airfields in the country. The airfield is situated on the east coast of England near Harwich in Essex and is set in a picturesque estate in the beautiful Essex countryside, Great Oakley airfield is a fantastic airfield to visit. There are two active runways available, 27, 09, 22 and 04 so Great Oakley is accessible in most weather conditions.
The airfield support room (once known as the club house) has been recently refurbished and serves good food and drinks; in the warmer months you can relax on the veranda and take in the wonderful views of the local countryside. Fuel is available and served by the owner.
If you're considering dropping by, please do as you will be very welcome. They encourage individuals as well as groups from other clubs, and if you phone ahead they can have refreshments ready for your arrival. Radio is A/G 123.200 Please PPR with AVGAS available.
