Lydd Airport, opened in 1956, was the first airport to be built in the UK following the end of the Second World War. It was used initially for air ferry services.



Lydd Airport EGMD is located on Dungeness Peninsula halfway between Folkestone and Hastings. Prices are very competitive compared to other airports in the South East.  Lydd is designated for clearing Customs & Immigration. Avgas is Duty Free for pilots transferring outside the UK. ILS / NDB / GPS approach procedures.

Services include Biggles Restaurant (hot food served 0800 - 1500) with a Traditional Sunday Carvery, Licensed Bar, and a fully stocked Pooleys shop.



Non-Radio aircraft are not accepted.  All information needed to fly in can be found on their website.



Nearby attractions : Port Lympne Zoo, The Rare Breeds Centre, historic Canterbury and Lydd Golf Club (adjoining airport - with special offers available)
