Welshpool Airport (ICAO: EGCW) (also known as Mid-Wales Airport[) is located 2 NM (3.7 km; 2.3 mi) south of Welshpool, Powys, Wales.
Welshpool Mid-Wales Airport was the vision of Bob Jones, the dairy farmer turned aviator on whose land the airport was built. He built hangers, turned the original grass runway into a tarmac one, and developed the airport into what it is now.
Bob died tragically on 18 January 2012. His family and the airport community continue to keep his memory and vision alive.

They have a very successful Airshow, Sunday 14th June 2015 to which it is possible to fly into, this must be booked in advance. The Air show has its own web, www.welshpoolairshow.co.uk.
We are in the process of booking aircraft for this year’s show. Last year’s displays included Red Arrows, Battle of Britain, Vulcan, Typhoon, Pitts , Strikemaster, Spartan, Breitling Wing Walkers, gyrocpter , RAF Tucano, Glider FX and Bucker Jungmann Biplanes and RAF Falcons.
