Can I fly a permit aircraft with my current licence
Can I fly a permit aircraft with my current licence

If you currently have a UK PPL, UK NPPL or EASA PPL or LAPL then yes you can.

You may need Differences Training if the aircraft you trained on had a tricycle undercarriage and the LAA aircraft you are moving to is a taildragger, has a retractable under carriage or has a constant speed propeller.

It is also highly recommended that before flying any new type you do some conversion training with somebody who has experience of the type.

To make this transition as easy as possible, we run an LAA Pilot Coaching Scheme whereby an approved LAA coach will carry out conversion training, taildragger training, short strip training or whatever tuition you need in your newly acquired aircraft at very reasonable cost.
